Video is an amazing tool to disseminate complex experiment design and results. In this case I used video to explain a commercial scale experiment trial that was run in a mussel processing facility in Sweden. I must confess that in a way filming helped me to forget the extreme cold. One of my weakness is the lack of tolerance to cold, and working at 0°C is a big challenge for me.

Myself  and research colleagues worked together with mussel farmers in a dispatch centre in order to better understand mussels’ physiological tolerance to post harvest practices, including grading, holding, packaging, transport and storage. In the end our aim was to decrease mortality and maintain mussels in good quality.
